Bally Studios is based in Tottenham Hale.  And we're happy to be

Tottenham Hale eh?   I went to the High Road once...

Woah, we're not based near the High Road.  Jimmy and Francesca used to live by the High Road, and Tottenham Hale is a lot nicer than that

Oh good. So what's it like then?

Well, it is nice.  It has a few shops, some reservoirs, fields, country walks, marshes and locks with canal boats, floating art galleries and restaurants set up by Gordon Ramsey trained chefs.....

Are you being serious?

Yes!  See, on the map, you can see it's right next to the Walthamstow Marshes and the River Lee (the studios is where the arrow is):

and we are only about 60 seconds walk away from the marshes.  In fact, here is a video of the walk from the studios to the marshes, in real time, to prove it:

{Sit tight, the video will be up here very shortly!}

and below there are loads of photos of the marshes.  It's nice, in the spring you get March hares running everywhere (ironically, as Jimmy, the studios owner,  used to play in The March Hares), as well as foxes, badgers, etc.  In fact, more information on the marshes can be found here:

Lea Valley Website

You can also see on the map that we are based right next to the reservoirs that make up Walthamstow Fisheries.  Photos of the fisheries are also right at the bottom of this page.  They're owned by Thames water, and for about £12 a year you get private access to them all. And as you can see, we're right next to them. There's also the Weir Nature reserve, as well as Picketts lock. When it comes to nature, we're in one of the best spots in London

Tottenham hale is also, officially, one of the most up and coming areas of London.  A new development, being built just at the bottom of Mill Mead Road will soon house a college, more shops, and is already the home to a large amount of student accommodation that is helping to give Tottenham Hale a great vibe

Arc Galleries, (an African Caribbean Art Gallery based on a boat moored on the River Lee) is a few mins walk away

The Lock - A posh restaurant just down the road, about 5 mins walk away, run by Gordon Ramsey trained chef.

The Ferry Boat Inn - If you want to spend a little more and get some pub grub, the Ferry Boat Inn is quite nice.  It's about £5.50 - £7 for a meal there, and the pints are reasonably priced too. To get there, you continue down Ferry Lane past the traffic lights.   It'll be on your left.

Active Acoustics - manufacturers of PA systems is based on the same road

Shops? Well, whilst it isn't exactly Regent Street,  we have shops that many bands coming to the studio find very handy, like Maplins, Currys, Comet, PC World, Lidl, ASDA Living, as well as a Pizza Hut, Subway, Burger King, Costa Coffee and KFC if you're looking for food.  There is a BP petrol station opposite the Tube station, that has a cash point (handy to remember, as we cannot take credit cards.  Also, we have been informed that there is a cash point now in the Ferry Boat in, the pub that is on Ferry Lane.  A couple of bands said that it's free to withdraw money here, although we can't currently confirm this)

Pubs wise, apart from The Ferry Boat inn, there aren't too many great pubs I'm afraid. But remember, you're only 7 mins away from Highbury and Islington, and there aren't too many better areas in North London, if not England, when it comes to pubs than there.
